Your opportunity


This is an exciting opportunity for a high calibre, experienced individual to join Australian Unity’s Wealth & Capital Markets platform. Wealth & Capital Markets comprises the Advice, Investments, Life & Super, Property, and Trustees business units. The strategic purpose of the platform is to link the organisation’s valuable efforts in helping Australians secure their financial wellbeing with capital and social infrastructure needs of the communities.


In joining as the Senior Fund/Tax Accountant, you will  have co responsibility of overseeing and  review of fund accounting functions which include daily unit pricing, distribution calculations, statutory reporting [ where relevant], maintenance of the general ledger, tax calculations, BAS calculations and lodgements across all type of investment products within the Wealth & Capital Markets platform.


This role also has a key tax focus in ensuring the product tax calculations are correct not only for the product per se, but also for group tax interrelationships. You will play a key role in managing internal and external stakeholders and a key contact for audit and tax queries. Success in this role will be aligned to your ability to develop a deep understanding of the varied investment products.

From a technical perspective, you will hold well-developed accounting, financial and analytical skills, and sound product understanding of the funds management industry. Additionally, you will bring to the role:


  • CPA / Chartered qualification or working towards completion.
  • Finance / Commerce / Accounting degree coupled with a minimum two years of industry specific experience.
  • Previous experience in end to end accounting and unit pricing for managed investment schemes.
