The role 


Come and join the team at Willandra Village where we are leading the industry in driving our award winning 'Better Together' model, raising the quality of living in aged care. We are currently looking for an experienced Maintenance Officer to lead the friendly team in Cromer, NSW on a Full Time basis. As the Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for the upkeep and general maintenance of the residential living and shared spaces of Willandra Village, working in accordance with health and safety guidelines and providing a support service that enhances our customer's wellbeing in their home. 

This role will have an hourly rate of $38 - $42 depending on experience. We are looking for someone who is able to start immediately if possible. 


What you will be doing


  • Maintenance and repairs:  Working within the grounds of Willandra Village, this may include painting, lighting maintenance, gutters, air conditioning, tiling, basic plumbing and other general repairs
  • Overseeing and managing the Maintenance Work Schedule and staff delivering this program, including coaching and development team members
  • Planned and reactive maintenance:  Completing all planned works as agreed whilst also repairing any immediate requirements that arise
  • Work alongside Australia Unity’s preferred suppliers and contractors where relevant and ensuring all work carried out is within the planned budget and compliance requirements
  • Ensuring work place health and safety regulations are adhered to, that areas are kept tidy and you are an advocate for keeping team members and customers to be safe at all times



About you


  • A warm, compassionate, customer focused manner.
  • A relevant trade qualification or certificate would be highly regarded but is not mandatory.
  • Experience leading a Maintenance Works program and the associated staff and services.
  • Demonstrated experience around ensuring work place health and safety standards are established and maintained.
  • Excellent communication skills and able to develop effective relationships with residents, whilst managing repairs and maintenance work with minimal disruption to their homes and lives.
  • Excellent computer and technology skills with ability to navigate computer and mobile phone systems without assistance
