The position


The Assistant Asset Manager is positioned within our Property business, within the Wealth & Capital Markets platform. Australian Unity actively manages more than $4 billion in commercial property assets, including the listed Australian Unity Office Fund, unlisted funds in healthcare and commercial property as well as commercial and development debt funding. 


This position, which provides an excellent career development path, will support the Fund Managers and Asset Managers of Australian Unity’s commercial funds with all asset management activities. This includes assisting with the management and delivery of the strategic asset plans, budgets, developments, administration, and management of the portfolio. Further, supporting with lease administration, capital expenditure tracking, mitigating compliance risks and to maximising asset and portfolio returns through improving occupancy, WALE, tenancy mix, leasing covenants and capital value enhancements.


About you

The appointed individual will possess the following:


  • Degree qualification or higher in Property, Business, or related disciplines, combined with at least 2-3 years of Commercial Asset Management experience with a detailed understanding of property management.
  • Sound financial and commercial acumen with well-practiced budget management and project management skills.
  • With ample internal and external stakeholder engagement in this position, an ability to develop and maintain effective stakeholder relationships is essential.
  • An excellent communicator skilled in influencing and negotiating at various levels, both internally and externally.
  • A natural self-starter who can take the initiative and has a focus on continuous improvement.
