Our opportunity


Australian Unity is looking for a Senior Business Intelligence Developer to join the Operations Insights team in Independent Assisted Living side of business. You will be responsible for designing, developing and delivering BI solutions to support the business gain insights and make data driven decision aligned to strategic and operational goals. The Senior BI Developer will be responsible for all aspects of BI solution delivery including, solution design, data modelling, ETL development and end user dashboard development. Working alongside the BI Lead, Head of Operations and Business insights, Business SMEs and BAs, you will manage stakeholder expectations to deliver fit for purpose BI solutions that drive operation insights in a timely manner.


What you will do


  • Lead, design and implement Extract Transform Load (ETL) packages within the BI environment
  • Build and maintain reports and dashboards
  • Build complex SQL scripts to provide ad-hoc data extracts and analysis
  • Maintain, monitor, and support BI & Analytics platforms and application
  • Work with business stakeholders to gather requirements, conduct analysis, help define reportable metrics and prioritize requests
  • Participate in/Manage as appropriate the identification, assessment, treatment and reporting of risks


About you


  • Extensive experience MS BI stack (SQL Server data platform, T-SQL, SSIS, SSAS & Power BI)
  • Extensive experience in Data-warehousing, Data modelling, cleansing & mining concepts.
  • Extensive experience and understanding in dimensional data warehouse design and implementation
  • Strong experience with building visualisation/dashboards (Tableau or PowerBI)
  • Exposure to Python
  • Exposure to cloud technologies (AWS and Azure)
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines using a tech stack of GIT/Bitbucket
  • Desirable to have worked in an Agile environment
  • Proven consultative and relationship building skills with the ability to establish strong stakeholder relationships at all level in the business
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
