Your New Role:

An exciting opportunity has become available within our Group Governance function for a Risk and Compliance Manager. The Risk and Compliance Manager will provide high quality, proactive and commercial risk, compliance and governance services to support the Australian Unity Group, particularly our Finance & Strategy, People & Culture and Governance teams. The role is accountable for providing oversight, independent monitoring and advice and fostering the development of a mature risk and compliance capability and culture.

 

Your New Role Looks Like This:

  • Lead, influence and execute the design and development of compliance and risk solutions to support the business
  • Manage and work to a schedule of Line 2 control testing activity and work with the business to continually improve our control environment
  • Support business leaders with their control assessment program and incident reporting process
  • Actively review the policy and legislative environment impacting corporate compliance, listing and disclosure requirements
  • Be an active participant on key strategic projects and governance forums, providing independent compliance and risk insight
  • Contribute to the ongoing evolution of the Group Risk and Compliance frameworks, policies and procedures.

 

About You:

We are searching for a professional who will be a confident communicator and has a focus on delivering outcomes.

Does this sound like you?

  • 5+ years’ experience in risk, compliance, legal, audit, finance, treasury or company secretarial roles.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications: law, finance accounting, economics or business is preferred.
  • Solid experience in control testing and a working knowledge of the legal and regulatory framework relevant to Australian Unity’s businesses, including APRA capital and liquidity requirements.
  • Knowledge of financial risk is preferred — particularly treasury and capital management
  • Experience in conducting scenario analysis and/or stress testing is an advantage
  • Able to lead and influence through change and working agilely in complex environments.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Industry relevant experience to Australian Unity’s business portfolio is a bonus.
