The Opportunity 

 

Reporting to the GM Group Strategy, you will play a leading role in the development and implementation of Australian Unity’s strategic vision and overall plan. You will bring to life Australian Unity’s values and strategic objectives through creating and articulating a coherent strategy that reflects the Group’s opportunity set and enabling the business to deliver.

 

What you will do

 

  • Act as a thought leader and partner with the commercial and strategy teams in each platform to align platform strategies within the overall group portfolio objectives.
  • Facilitate the annual strategic planning process, including preparation of key materials for the annual Board and management strategic offsite
  • Play a leading role in facilitating the strategic agenda at different levels of the business (e.g. Board, Group Leadership Team etc.) and developing Group Strategy presentations.
  • Work with Group Treasury to design and implement appropriate portfolio management & capital allocation tools to support the decision making for the business.
  • Represent Finance & Strategy in the evaluation of M&A opportunities, supporting platform leads to analyse and articulate value proposition and risks.
  • Support the General Manager Group Strategy and Head of Enterprise PMO on strategy and risk assessment of projects to ensure we are doing the right projects aligned to the Group’s strategic objectives

 

What we are looking for 

 

  • Finance, Accounting or related tertiary qualification with proven numerical and modelling expertise.
  • Experience working directly with senior management and Group Leadership Team stakeholders.
  • Advanced modelling, research and analytical capability.
  • Solid understanding of local and macro trends which impact businesses.
  • Ability to work productively with multiple stakeholders in a team-based environment.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet stringent deadlines.
