The position

The primary objective for this role is to ensure the delivery of timely and accurate financial reporting and unit prices for Australian Unity, including management of relationships with internal and third-party service providers and development of efficient and effective processes within the parameters of the Australian Unity Group’s risk management framework.

  • Timely and accurate accounting and unit pricing for Investment Bonds and maintenance of effective processes
  • Accounting data provided by external custodian reviewed and reconciled
  • Ensure that tax obligations for the Investment Bonds products are properly recorded and reconciled in accordance with the specific requirements of each product
  • Effective working relationship in place with internal and external tax teams ensuring efficient recording of tax obligations and understanding of tax characteristics of unit trusts
  • Ensure processes are continually reviewed and enhanced so that they are efficient, effective, and relevant for the Investment Bonds Accounting function
  • Build effective working relationships with key stakeholders

The Wealth & Capital Markets platform manages investments, property assets and developments (associated debt facilities) and provides advice and trustee services. In aggregate, the platform has circa $28 billion of assets under management and administration, including managed funds, property funds and benefit funds. Our team of in-house experts operate across five business units, being Advice, Investments, Life & Super, Property and Trustee Services

 

About you

We are searching for a professional who will join us in striving to live our values of bold, warm and honest, in everything we do.

Your expertise and qualifications will include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or commerce with CA/ CPA
  • Financial services experience, including fund accounting and unit pricing
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills dealing with key stakeholders and team members
  • Continuous improvement mind-set, to identify and contribute to streamlining and elevation of policies, processes, procedures, tools and templates
  • Ability to prioritise and effectively manage concurrent deliverables where required
